Endless ceiling!

Et voilà, here it is! The longest ceiling I've ever decoratedin my entire life! And let's admit it, it's a bit tedious to paint all those small squares ;) But I'm so pleased with the result! I can't wait to actually take some pics of the mall with the ceiling in its place. Hopefully you'll like it!

The shopping center

Hi everyone! I thought it was time to show you the shopping centre building in its entirety. Sorry for the blurry bits, but that's perspex! I thought I'd go for a clear front, so that you can see inside without having to remove any kind of wooden facade. Also, in the second picture you can see the hallway of the second floor. My idea is to put some plants dropping down each columns. I haven't done any kind of flowers/plants before, so it should be interesting :) I've completed the ceiling last week, and now it's mounted in place, so soon you'll see more pics of it!

First attempts with clay

Sorry no pics of the millinery shop today, boooooooooooooohhhhh.
Well, believe it or not, I still haven't finished the floor that goes in the millinery shop! All the wooden bits are in place now, but the floor is still missing some wax!
It seems like you'll have to wait a couple more days before you can actually see some pics! But it will be worth it!
In the meantime I thought I'd show my first attempt at fish making! These not-so-perfect rainbow trout will find their place in the shopping center, of course!

Millinery shop - work in progress

Good morning everyone! Just a quick post to show you a pic of my millinery shop! As you can see I've been working hard this week ;) The thing is, it takes me about a hour to make one single square for the floor! But I'm positive that in the next couple days I'll finish it off, and then I'll show you some nice pics of the shop, and some views of the entire shopping center!

A week back home

Yay, I'm back at home in Italy this week (school break after having done 7 exams last week!!!). I'm going to take more pics of my mall as soon as a ray of sun comes out (it's raining so hard at the moment...). In the meantime I'll show you a pic of some hosiery boxes I made quite recently. I hope you'll like them.
Also, I wanted to welcome three new followers:
- Sylvia http://miniaturasnatasylvia.blogspot.com/ Please go and have a look at her blog, I'm sure you'll like it!
- Synnøve; I'm in love with her French style doll house!

- Monique (sorry I couldn't find her blog).
Have a wonderful day.

Corset boxes

Even though I can't work that much on the structure of my doll house, since that's in Italy and I'm in the Uk, there's still plenty of accessories I can make. I've got such a huge variety of items I can make, since there will be so many different shops in my mall...
Yesterday I've made a few corset boxes; each one of them has a removable lid. At the moment though there are no corsets inside, I still have to find a tutorial on how to make them :)
Also I wanted to welcome three new followers:

I hope you're all having a good day, hugs!

Meringues

Last week I went meringues crazy, and so I decided to make a batch of them in miniature. I've made meringues of all pastel colors I could come up with, but of course I couldn't dismiss some traditional white ones! These meringues are so tiny! It's a miracle I still haven't lost any of them on the carpet ;)

Welcome and new toys!

Right, it's about time to welcome two new followers:
- Roberta: she's a very clever italian miniaturist, and she'll be going with Rosanna over at the Simp this June. Please go and visit her blog, http://ilboratoriodipitosfora.blogspot.com/
- Nina: her blog is filled with cute contemporary minis, you can't miss it! http://minimumm.blogspot.com/
Thank you very much for following my blog, I really hope you'll enjoy it.
I thought I'd share with you today these two hobby bears I've done for my toy shop (for the mall, of course!). Please be kind with me, it's my first attempt at bear making. I know there are some professional bear makers out there ;)
Have a good night!

Work in progress

While I was cleaning up my computer today, I've found some pictures of my mall, as I left it back in December.
I thought I'd show you the tedious process of tile making (and gluing). In the first pic you can see the hallway of the ground floor, while in the second pic you can see a detail of one of the walls (with a door that leads to a shop). I was inspired by one of the hallways of the Queen Mary doll house; I liked the minimalist look of the white and black floor, with completely white panel walls. So here's you can see my version of it.
Right below there's the completed (all right, it is still missing the ceiling....) hallway.

And lastly, a picture taken from above of the entire ground floor, so that you can get a general idea of what the structure of the mall is like. Basically there will be shops on all sides, for a total of six on each floor. I hope you like it!!!

I'm back!!!!!

That's a long time since I have last blogged, and I've missed it a lot in the past year. The thing is, in the last 10 months I've been so busy trying to accomplish what my dream in 1:1 scale life is, that I barely have had any time to do miniatures, let alone blog about them!
I'm now attending an aviation academy, I'd love to be an airline pilot in the near future. But this big plan has meant moving to a different Country, attending ground school (which I'm only half way through) , and giving up a lot of my miniature-making time.
I've also had to leave my doll houses at home in Italy, so my 19th century mall is going very slowly. But very recently I've managed to regain posses of some of my spare time, and I'm now back to crafting. I'm making accessories of all sorts that one day will go in my turn of century mall!!!!
In the next few days I'll be posting some pics of what I've been up to lately. For tonight I'll be showing you all some soap boxes I made, I hope you like them!
